Flyfolk Prayers: The English Translations of an Ingenious Microtopia // Hymn to the Eternal Crimson

Our one true God

Free from the beasts from beyond

Maintaining everlasting flawlessness

Grant us the capability to continue our harmonious existence

Assist us, your sustenance, in union with your planetary servants

Sustain your power to prosper in the greatest of times

We recognize we give and take from your perfection

While we plant our feet on your woven veil

Providing sustenance to your composition

Through nourishment, we will discover excellence

Help us to nurture your form with precision

Your planetary servants, they will also provide for you

Relieve us from environmental sorrow

Grant us everlasting nutrition

As perfection we shall strive to obtain in union

In Eternal perfection we shall remain

Tale of a Cactus // A 53 Word Short Story

She lives unaware of her environment, yet she exudes modest beauty in a physically and emotionally dismal landscape. She acquires nourishment from the scarce droplets originating from the heavens. Maintaining an upright position with brilliantly barbed spines, her physique emanates her optimistic nature. A lone, lovely cactus brings a vibrancy to the deserted.

No // Resist Their Authority

Resist their authority.
Refuse to be a casualty.
You can brand me,
Whip me,
Tie me to a tree.
Refuse to be complicit
In your destructivity
Reject plasticity,
Embrace malleability.

Window // Uncertainty

Sitting by my window,
Remembering a time
When I wasn’t afraid
To step outside.
My closet doors
Welcome me with open arms.
My loved ones also hide,
While the pandemic multiplies.
I’m so scared, I tell them,
Will everything be okay?
The world has gone mad,
Yet I’m still sane.
Am I insane?
Stability is uncertain.
Sickness lies
Behind the closing curtains.

Sea of Ants // A Wish to be Understood

Fractured mind, disembodied soul
Scattered pieces of my whole being.
Trying to mend the wound,
Hoping the blood will die down soon,
Unsure of I can make it through
Until I remember birds
Which scatter themselves among the trees,
Multicolored leaves,
Which parallels my innate need
For an entity which conjures
Feelings of warmth and joy,
A fictional safety net
Which allows me to enjoy
My life, which is not so grand,
Does not warrant any applause,
A crumb in a sea of ants
Who wishes to be understood.

Violet // Perception

Your heart playfully sings,
While tugging my strings.
Your apparition has wings,
Like a songbird.
Oh, how I wish I could fly
Like you gracefully glide.
You’re an angel that reminds
Me of a lifestyle I’ve envisioned,
yet never heard.
A conjured storyline
With tainted timelines.
A fragmented persona
Is where you hide.
Perception becomes your drive.
I feed into your lurid lie.

Recover // Growth

I’m scared of the future,
Afraid of it all,
I don’t know what’s in store.
Will I rise or fall?
Could I recover?
Or is it too late?
Some will not appreciate
Fear of one’s eventual fate
I wish others could understand
We’re surviving in a world gone mad.
Some break free while others
Drown in quicksand.
Escape is our solution,
Compassion hard to come by,
But when it’s discovered,
It eases the passage of time.
